American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons
Role: Lead Front End Developer
Published: Jun 2022
ACFAS is a public facing brochure site for the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons. The site was designed with an emphasis on getting relevant information to members and other interested parties. Elements are clean and blocky, with clear differentiation of content, and highly legible copy.
This project required the collaboration of three separate teams: Design, Front-End, and Back End. I lead the Front End team, and it was our responsibility to develop the CSS stylesheets, minimal JavaScript, and to deliver reusable Handlebars HTML templates to the back end team. The design team was internal to my company, so collaboration was direct and we were pixel-perfect by the time of launch.
The back end team we were working with were an external developer, with whom we had very minimal direct contact. Every template delivered had to be crystal clear, and self-contained to allow the back end team (and ultimately the end-users) to have the easiest, most fool-proof experience when it came time to adding and editing content.
All work conducted on this project was done in the employ of Sandstorm Design.
